About

Diane Davis

Hi, I’m Diane Davis, a Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC) in St. Louis, Missouri. I specialize in working with millennials navigating anxiety, complex trauma, attachment wounds, and the overwhelm that often comes with parenting and relationships.

I approach therapy with warmth, curiosity, and a deep respect for the ways people learned to survive hard things. I use the NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM®), a relational, somatic, and trauma-informed approach that helps clients untangle old survival patterns and build a more connected, authentic relationship with themselves. I am a certified NARM® Therapist, and I am currently in the 2025 cohort of the NARM® Masters training led by Brad Kammer, LMFT, LPCC, Training Director of the Complex Trauma Training Center. I regularly participate in NARM case consultations, active coaching, and continuing education.

I believe therapy should feel collaborative, steady, and practical — a space where you don’t have to explain everything, where your humor, grief, and contradictions are welcome, and where real change feels possible.

My first career was as an audit manager at a Big 4 accounting firm in Dallas, TX, and I still have a strong love for logic, numbers, and organizing. I went back to school to get my Masters in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy (with honors) from Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA.

When I’m not in session, you’ll probably find me drinking coffee, overanalyzing a podcast, or chasing after my two kids. Identity disclosures: she/her/hers, cisgendered, white, ablebodied.

I am supervised by Kim McGuiness M.Ed., LPC, NCC #2019003417.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you take insurance?

I don’t accept insurance. I’m happy to provide a superbill you can submit for possible out-of-network reimbursement, but it’s a good idea to check with your insurance provider about your benefits.

How long are sessions?

Intake sessions are 90 minutes to allow time to review paperwork, get to know each other, and start identifying your goals for therapy. Intake sessions are $187.50. Regular individual sessions are 50 minutes and $125. Walk-and-talk sessions are 45 minutes to allow for travel time. I have some reduced fee time slots avaiable.

How often will we meet?

Most clients start with weekly sessions to build momentum and consistency. Over time, we may shift to biweekly depending on your goals and needs.

What issues do you work with?

I specialize in complex trauma, attachment wounds, anxiety, relationship patterns, and parenting struggles.

Do you offer virtual or in-person sessions?

I offer both in-person sessions in St. Louis and virtual sessions for clients anywhere in Missouri.

Do you work alone or in a group?

I’m part of a group practice called Get Centered Counseling, Coaching, and Wellness. While I work independently with my clients, being part of a collaborative practice allows me to connect with other skilled therapists and wellness providers in the community.

What is NARM®?

NARM (the NeuroAffective Relational Model) is a relational, somatic, and trauma-informed approach that helps us understand how early life experiences shape our present-day patterns. It’s a gentle, non-pathologizing way to work with anxiety, trauma, and relationship struggles.
